Dog Shows
We show our dogs at AKC (American Kennel Club) dog shows. We attend around 70 all breed shows and 5 specialties a year, including the SHCA (Siberian Husky Club of America) National Specialty. We handle our own dogs sometimes in the Bred By Exhibitor class, sometimes from Open. We love travelling and meeting new people and of course catching up with our friends from all over.

Want to know more about dog shows?
If you are interested in getting started showing dogs, be sure to attend several dog shows (before you get a dog, if possible). Talk to several people there, when they have time of course, most likely after they are done showing. Beware of those not able to give a subjective opinion about their own dogs or press you to buy a puppy. A responsible breeder or handler will be happy answer questions about their dogs or shows in general. Just being able to watch the judging will help you gain a greater understanding of how shows work. When dog shows are aired on TV, only the group judging is shown. Even that is mostly edited down to a few dogs and we hardly ever show on carpet! AKC (American Kennel Club) has a webpage which explains thing more thoroughly. Click here to visit that site.
